New National Role for Shepway Councillor

Cllr Rory Love (Conservative, Harvey West ward) has been elected to the Board of the Conservative Councillors’ Association (CCA), the national body representing nearly 8,000 Conservative councillors across the country. Elections took place last month, and the new Board was announced at the CCA’s annual general meeting held in Leeds last weekend.

All Conservative Councillors are asked to join the CCA, which organises workshops and training sessions, and publishes a weekly newsletter. Its meetings are regularly attended by Shadow Ministers, and the CCA has a seat on the Conservative Party’s main Board. Cllr Love is the first Shepway councillor to join the 9-strong Board which is drawn from all types of local authority, and which governs the Association.

Rory Love said:

“The greatest privilege in local government is to be elected to serve residents in your ward. But to be elected by fellow councillors to represent them on the Conservative Councillors’ Association is a real honour. I am pleased to be able to carry the flag for Shepway, and I shall ensure that our District’s voice is clearly heard at the top table of Conservative councillors.”
